HSHS St. Mary's Emergency Services Department provides treatment for patients with a staff of highly-trained medical personnel. With a team of ER physicians, a physician is on staff 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Patients also have access to physicians from individual specialties who are on-call.

The Emergency Services Department consists of 21 rooms, with specialized rooms for trauma, isolation,  decontamination and behavioral health. St. Mary's Emergency Services Department is also the only Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics in Macon County, certified by IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health).
